Our aim is to research and analyse domestic and international economic trends, in particular economic policy models for recovery from the global economic crisis. To use the results and present them in an understandable way in order to develop and support Hungarian competitiveness and the knowledge-based economy.
Since its establishment in 2019, the Oeconomus Economic Research Foundation has made significant progress and has become an indispensable player in the field of economic, geopolitical and related frontier research. Over the past few years, our community of analysts and the range of professional materials they produce has grown considerably. We publish a growing number of print publications, as well as shorter and longer analyses of domestic economic policy issues and international geopolitical and economic trends. We also produce professional videos and podcasts, and organise professional debates and major conferences.
Our aim is to provide a widely accessible analysis of domestic economic policy challenges, the responses to them, and their outcomes. We seek to identify good international practices and to draw attention to the need to translate them into domestic practice. The challenges of the 2020s have drawn attention to the need to identify and analyse domestic and international economic, geopolitical and geo-economic trends in order to draw on international practices and support decision-making in the economy. Over the past three decades, and especially in the last 10 years, Hungarian governments have pursued economic and geopolitical agendas that have put Hungary on a stable footing and set it on a dynamic development path. The variety of innovative solutions also provided an opportunity to analyse results and trends. Conservative think tanks have been inspired by the attention paid to the Hungarian model. As a result, we have become more sensitive to changes in economic policy and geopolitical events, as well as to research on future developments.
The destructive events of the past few years have shown that in order to draw on international practices and support decision-making in economic policy, it is essential to identify and analyse domestic and international economic and geopolitical trends, and to use them to make medium- and long-term forecasts on the most important issues affecting Hungary.
