Hitel Publishing

Hitel Publishing started its operations under the auspices of the Libri Group in 2023. In addition to publishing books, the publishing house has also taken on the task of securing the spirit of the Hitel journal and running the periodical. The history of this prestigious journal dates back to the 1980s, when renowned artists including Sándor Csoóri and Gyula Illyés established a forum edited by writers, independent of the state party's leadership. Prominent figures such as Ervin Lázár, Kornél Döbrentei and István Ágh are among the former editors of the journal.This was the intellectual starting point for the Hitel Publishing House. The first volume published was a book on the life of Csaba Böjte, entitled Fényből és sárból (Of Light and Mud), by the Attila József Prize-winning author Levente Csender. The authors include well-known figures such as Mór Bán, István Tarlós and Tamás Kötter, but it also gives space to talented young writers and seeks to be an active partner in the rise of a new generation of writers.
