UN Youth Delegates x Forum App

The UN Youth Delegate Program aims to build bridges between young people and decision-makers for a more peaceful future. Young Hungarians selected through the program will have the opportunity to represent Hungary at relevant UN sessions. The announcement of the Sustainable Development Goals gave new impetus to the initiative and in 2016 Hungary joined the program. As youth diplomats, the current delegates, Widad and Annamária tour the country holding lectures and workshops for Hungarian youth, supporting youth initiatives, conducting consultations among Hungarian youth, and organising events and delivering speeches at the UN to represent the voice of Hungarian youth.

Hungary's UN Youth Delegates in 2024:

  • Brimo Widad - Senior Youth Delegate of Hungary to the United Nations. In addition to her interest in diplomacy and international relations, she attaches great importance to the representation of Hungarian cultural heritage and the promotion of gender equality at the UN. Her dual national identity played a crucial role in her strong desire to act for the community. She is of Syrian origin on his father's side and spent most of his childhood in Aleppo. Besides the values she brought from Syria, Hungarian culture also plays a significant role in her life, as she has been folk dancing since the age of six.
  • Annamária Wettstein - Hungary's junior youth delegate to the United Nations. Since high school, she has been involved in engaging youth in public discourse and developing debate culture.  She co-founded a debate club and has organized and moderated numerous public discussions, strengthening the dialogue between young people and decision-makers. Annamária is a student at the London School of Economics and Political Science. As a delegate, she is committed to supporting disadvantaged young women as well as Hungarian students studying abroad.

The Forum App aims to gather the best events and opportunities for young people. Presentations, travel opportunities, conferences, mentoring programmes, scholarships... All in one place, at your fingertips!

Our startup was launched in 2023 when we took part in the Design Terminal Start program. In spring 2023 we came third in Talent Kapital Hungary's Lift Up program, and in September we came first in the Hackathon jointly organised by MCC and Design Terminal.

Since then, we have been working in the K&H Start It accelerator program, and since November 2023 our app has also been available.
