Due Media Network

Since 1989, the non-profit organisation has brought together student newspapers and radio programmes, primary and secondary school students preparing for a career in journalism, students majoring in communication, young people interested in the media in general, and their helpers.

The National Association of Student and Youth Journalists (DUE) is the largest public benefit purpose youth organisation in Hungary and the second largest journalists' organisation, founded in 1989. DUE is an Accredited Outstanding Talent Point and a European Talent Point. For over 35 years, our main activity and objective has been talent development and dissemination among young people in schools and small local communities, who have been opinion leaders, volunteers, and content creators for student newspapers, student radios, YouTube channels, blogs and vlogs  Training, developing and supporting young opinion leaders is essential because they are the most credible sources of information for their peers in their age group and in small communities. If they are properly trained, informed and have a solid professional and ethical foundation, young people around them will also be and well-informed.

As the DUE motto says: community, talent, and friendship. This is what we have been working for in the last 35 years.

For more than 30 years, our most extensive service has been the National School Radio Network, with more than 170 student radio editorial offices across the country. Our educational youth monthly entitled DUE Tallozó (DUE Review) has been published for 25 years during the academic year. The 32-page full-colour magazine offers nationwide publication of the best articles published in Hungarian-language student magazines, together with informative and opinion-forming editorials on issues affecting young people DUE Online is our primary online platform. This platform and our Facebook page with more than 11,000 followers in Hungary and abroad, provides a fast flow of information for members and those interested. Last year marked the 30th anniversary of the National Youth Press Festival, the largest annual gathering of opinion-leader student journalists. Our Student Media Talent Competition is the flagship of our activities. The awards ceremony for the 8 categories and three age groups also takes place at the Press Festival. The 9-day DUE camps are our most significant professional, community, and talent development event, which also serves as a dissemination tool. Here we have been providing podcaster and radio, youtuber, vlogger, video and online content creator training to nearly 100 participants from Hungary and abroad, for 43 years.
