Zsolna Ugron is a József Attila Prize and Táncsics Mihály Prize-winning author who comes from the Ugron family from Ábránfalva in Transylvania. She graduated in Law and Political Science from the Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest. Ugron began her career as an editor and reporter for TV2 and Magyar Televízió, working on entertainment shows, news programs, and political broadcasts. She later served as a communications consultant for MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas Plc.
In 2010, Ugron published her debut novel, Úrilányok Erdélyben, through Ulpius-ház Könyvkiadó, which topped Hungarian bestseller lists for months. Her historical novel series began with Erdélyi menyegző, published in 2013 by Libri Kiadó, followed by the second book in the Úrasszonyok trilogy, A nádor asszonyai, in 2014. Both novels were bestsellers. Her novella Hollóasszony, focusing on Erzsébet Szilágyi, was released in the autumn of 2016.
Ugron’s gastronomic show, Kastély a Kárpátokban, became one of TV Paprika's most successful Hungarian productions. She also published a recipe book titled Hét évszak in 2013 with Boook Kiadó. She regularly contributes to various journals and is the editor and host of the Duna Television’s portrait program Nagyok.
In 2021, Ugron released a collection of short stories, Nincs egy férfi, illustrated by her own drawings.
