Péter Sztáray is currently the State Secretary for Security Policy and Energy Security at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He began his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1993 and his leadership roles have included significant experience in security policy and non-proliferation, as well as in North American and Western European affairs. He also served as the political director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capacity of Deputy State Secretary.
The State Secretary has served in various positions at Hungary's Permanent Mission to NATO on three occasions, most recently as the Permanent Representative/Ambassador before his current appointment as State Secretary.
He completed his studies at the Vienna Diplomatic Academy and the Faculty of Law at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE).
