Since November 1, 2017, Gábor Orbán has been the CEO of Richter Gedeon Plc. Previously, he held the positions of Strategic Director and Deputy CEO at the company. He has been a member of the Richter Board of Directors since April 2017. Gábor began his career as a macroeconomic analyst, initially working as an economist for the MNB (Hungarian National Bank) and the ECB (European Central Bank), and later as a portfolio manager and head of the bond division at Aegon Investment Fund Management. He served as State Secretary for Tax and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of National Economy for two and a half years, and from September 2015, he worked at the Rothschild bank in Paris. He completed his studies at the Budapest University of Economics and in the United States.
Gábor has held, and continues to hold, various supervisory and board positions in several organizations, including the Hungarian National Bank, Richter Gedeon Plc., National Deposit Insurance Fund, Resolution Fund, Stock Exchange Advisory Board, Budapest Stock Exchange Ltd., UNICEF Hungary, Semmelweis University Consistory, and the National Science Policy Council.
Since August 2021, Gábor has been the chairman of the National Healthcare and Medical Training Foundation.
