Liliana Smiech is the Director General for International Affairs at Ludovika University of Public Service. Previously, she was a scholarship holder of the Japanese government program MIRAI Politics & Security and co-author of the report “Energy Poverty – Situation of Households in 2021.” She served as the president of the think-tank Warsaw Institute and is the chairwoman of its foundation council. Additionally, she is a member of the foundation council of the Central and Eastern European Council and a research assistant at Krakow University of Economics. Liliana is also a member of The Polish Economic Society.

An alumna of International Business from the Krakow University of Economics and Energy Studies at the Warsaw School of Economics, she has furthered her education by completing Energy Within Environmental Constraints at HarvardX and Energy Economics and Policy at MITx. Liliana Śmiech has gained professional experience in the European Parliament and in major multinational corporations. Her main interests are energy transition, sustainable development, and geopolitics. Privately, she is a sailor, beekeeper, and judge and coach of rhythmic gymnastics.
