Zoltán Kovács, an economist born in Transylvania, began his career as a corporate financial advisor before serving as a senior executive for medium and large companies in Hungary and the region. He is currently Head of the MCC's Center for Business Studies and, since March 2023, is a member of the Monetary Council of the Hungarian National Bank.
He has held ownership and executive positions in various investment and financial service providers (Concorde Securities Ltd., CA-IB Investment Banking Ltd., FHB Mortgage Bank Plc) and has been a board member of several large companies (Díjbeszedő Holding Ltd., Hungarian Post Ltd., MVM Ltd.). He has also served as chairman of the board (Libri-Bookline Trading Ltd.) and chairman of the supervisory board (National Talent Center Ltd.).
As the head of the Business Knowledge Workshop at Mathias Corvinus Collegium, he engages in teaching and research, focusing on investment, corporate finance, and economic cooperation in the Carpathian Basin.
Other notable positions include chairman of the board of trustees of the Széll Kálmán Foundation, a member of the economic council of the Pannonhalma Archabbey, and a supervisory board member of the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania Foundation.
