Imre Komjáthi is a Member of Parliament and Co-Chair of the Hungarian Socialist Party, he began his career as a locksmith and worked at BorsodChem and its predecessor from 1985 to 2018. Between 1991 and 2001, he was the plant secretary of the Kazincbarcika Chemical Workers' Union and joined the MSZP (Hungarian Socialist Party) in 2006. From 2014 to 2016, he was a member of the national presidency of the MSZP and in 2018, he was elected Vice President of the MSZP. In the 2022 he won a seat in Hungary's parliamentary elections. He currently lives with his family in Transylvania, raising his sister's four orphaned children.
