Dr. György László is an economist, policy expert, associate professor, and titular university professor. He obtained his university degrees at the Corvinus University of Budapest, in Switzerland, and at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. In his doctoral dissertation, he examined economic policy measures supporting social convergence in Hungary. This work led to the Teach for Hungary Program, which he oversees as a Government Commissioner.
Throughout his career, Dr. György László has served as a State Secretary in areas related to his profile: science policy, innovation, enterprise development, higher education, and vocational training. In 2020, as State Secretary for Economic Strategy and Regulation at the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, he developed the Economic Protection Action Plan in response to the coronavirus crisis.
In 2017, his first book, titled "Creating Balance – The Mission of Economic Policy," was published. The book is considered a fundamental work of the patriotic and pragmatic economic school in Hungary.
His upcoming book, "The Revolution of the Middle Class – A Meritocratic Strategy for the 21st Century," offers a merit-based solution to one of the most pressing challenges of our time.
