Szabolcs Ferencz I. has been the Chairman and CEO of FGSZ Zrt. since 2019. From 2011 to 2019, as the Managing Director of Group Corporate Relations, he oversaw Hungarian, EU, and international regulatory areas, International Public Relations, Strategy Development, and Corporate Communication. Between 2009 and 2011, he was the Managing Director of MOL Romania, and prior to that, he served as the Communications Director of the MOL Group. Before joining MOL Group, he worked in governmental and political communication.
Szabolcs earned his degree in Economics from the University of Regensburg in Germany and pursued postgraduate studies in Political Science.
Since 2011, he has been a member of the European Roundtable for Industry. Since 2013, he has served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the SEED Business School in Budapest and is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Regional Centre for Energy Policy Research Foundation. From 2020 to 2023, Szabolcs was a board member of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG). He held the position of Chairman of the Hungarian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council from 2015 to 2023. Between 2012 and 2020, he was a member of the Supervisory Boards of INA d.d. and Slovnaft a.s., and from 2015 to May 2018, he was a member of the Board of Directors of MET Holding A.G. From 2020 to 2024, he served as the Honorary Consul of the Sultanate of Oman in Hungary.
