Margita Szilágyi-Utczás graduated in 2007 with a degree in bioengineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. In 2009, she earned a second degree as a health engineer, and in 2013, she successfully defended her PhD in the field of chemical sciences. She later gained extensive knowledge in chromatography and spectrometry at the University of Messina in Italy, one of the world's most advanced centers for separation techniques. She initially worked as a postdoctoral researcher and later as a GC-MS specialist at Chromaleont Kft. She has been applying the knowledge acquired there for eight years as the professional head of the Analytical Laboratory established at the Sports Nutrition Science Center of the Hungarian University of Sports Science, and since September 2022, she has also been fulfilling the duties of center director. As a former elite pentathlete, her goals include using science to promote clean sport through comprehensive analytical testing of dietary supplements to maintain health and prevent doping violations.
