György Bakondi is a member of the Prime Minister's Strategic Advisory Board. Between 2000 to 2002 and 2010 to 2015, he served as the founding Director General of the National Directorate General for Disaster Management at the Ministry of the Interior, holding the rank of Fire Lieutenant General. Since 2015, he has been the Chief Internal Security Advisor to the Prime Minister. His main professional areas include internal security, border protection, terrorism, and cybersecurity; as a lawyer, he specializes in competition law, data protection, and public procurement law. He has decades of command and leadership experience, numerous professional publications, and extensive experience as a speaker. He has been awarded the Commander's Cross and the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary.
